and Yuncheng FlightsAirport Code: YCU Name Airport: Accommodation: Yuncheng Hotels Yuncheng Airport is a feeder airport with the approval of the General Staff and the State Planning Commission, which is one of the key projects in "Tenth Five-Year Plan" of Shanxi Province. The airport covers an area of 2900 mu with a total investment of 230 million yuan and a runway of 2400 meters in length. It allows the landing of Boeing 737 series aircrafts. 22 million passengers would go through this airport every year. Its first expansion project was started on May 2002. During three years’ construction, it overcame the difficulties of shortage of funds, withstood the pressure of the SARS outbreak and complete the main project construction tasks on November 2005.
On August 28th, 2008, Yuncheng Airport was put into use after the expansion. Its flight zone became grade 4D, allowing the landing of Boeing 767,300. There are routes to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Shenyang, Kunming, Taiyuan, Sanya and Wuhan. There are three flights of Yuncheng - Beijing per day and one flight of Yuncheng – Shanghai per day. Up to December 28, 2008, Yuncheng Airport has received 301,070 passenger, the first time to break 300,000. On March 2009 , airport terminal would be under expansion. By the end of 2010 it would be able to serve 850 people at the peak hour.
