In the historic city of Lijiang, there is an elegant hotel just inside the old town section called the Zen Garden Hotel. Local just 100 meters from the centre street, it is close enough to easily reach the historic section, yet far enough so the noise of the town will not disturb your rest. We have 16 comfortable which include 14 standard rooms and 2 special rooms. Within which we have furnished with antigue wedding beds. All the rooms are clean and are equipped with modern ensuit facilities. Our hotel has an open air central courtyard within which there are trees and water features. This is a tranquil area providing a relaxing place and popular meeting area for our guests and visitors. Our upstairs verandahs rive a maging views of old town Lijiang sky line and roof tops. Our hotel has been tastefully decorated using traditional Chinese antique furnishings. We also provide our guests: Live traditional Naxi and Chinese music on Monday and Thursday mornings. By arrangement, demonstration of Chinese painting and drawing by the owner' s brother in the teahouse. We can arrange tours and excursions to all the popular sites. Such as: Tiger leap gorge. Shangerli la. Yu long mourtain. Lugu lake. Etc. These tours and excursions can be customized for the adventurous and day tripper. We can arrange for you to sample first hand Naxi culture, through visites to local villages, ceromonies and concerts. If you will we can also arrange for you to observe and participate in Chinese tea ceromonies.

Zen Garden Hotel is a local resident hotel in Lijiang Old Town of Yunnan, which has totally 16rooms including two deluxe standard room (the bed is Qing Dynasty old with embroidered shoes), fourteen standard rooms, and one ancient and elegant tearoom. Furnishing in the guestroom and tearoom is with the age of Ming and Qing Dynasty, full with typical Chinese Cultural flavor. Good location, with a very nice view. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The lobby and the central area is beautiful. The room are nice, but quite small. The only problem we had was with the tap of the shower. It was very difficult to have the correct temperature. The old city is very noisy, especially at night in the area of the bars (techno music, very high volume!). Having such an hotel, out of this area is a big advantage.

Very nicely decorated. The noise from the bars in the old town is disturbing at night, but I guess this is true of many if not most of the hotels in the old town.

Very friendly people, most helpfull, perfect location, remote from the noise of the old time, but close enough to get into it. Picking up service from the airport in the middle of the night was perfect. Only small discussion was when we had to change from the car to the 3 wheel bicycle, we didnot know, that the car cannot get to the hotel.

This is a very nice hotel situated in the mids of the centre of the old town in Lijiang. You should stay at this hotel if you would like to stay in the midst of the old town and experience som of the genuine atmosphere. It is not a luxury hotel. The rooms are small, the furnishing simple, but the gallery outside the rooms is an excellent place to sit, the yard within the hotel is beautiful so is the reception area, the employees are really friendly and helpful and the reception / breafast area is simply beatful. I traveled with my two kids (13 and 15). If I go back to Lijiang (and I would like to) I would choose the same hotel. We really enjoyed our stay.
