Ganzhou is located in the southern part of Jiangxi and Zhangjiang and
Gongjiang Rivers traverse the city. Ganzhou, one of the famous historic and
cultural cities in China with a history of 2,100, was constructed in the early part
of the Western Han Dynasty. Historic sites of the city have been well preserved
because of its convenient waterways and flourishing economy and culture. The
city has been acclaimed by many people as "a Museum of the Song Dynasty".
Tongtian(Towering) Rock:
Situated 12 kilometers northwest of Ganzhou, the rock is a well developed topographic landscape. The cave temple with 358 bas-reliefs on precipices and 128 carved inscriptions completed from the end of the Tang Dynasty is a noted rock cave treasury vault of art south of the Yangtze River.

Ruijin:
Ruijin has many revolutionary sites, such as Yeping, Shaping Dam and Mt Yunshi. The site of the Provisional Central Committee of the Chinese Soviet Area, the Central Bureau of the Chinese Soviet Area, the former site of the Revolutionary Committee of the Central Committee and former residence of Mao Zedong are key cultural relics protection units of the state. Wuyang and Mt Yunshi are the first bridge and the first mountain respectively for the world-shaking 25,000-li Long March.

Ancient Wall of the Song Dynasty:
The wall is close to Panlong town southeast of Ganzhou. The existing site was stabilized in the Southern Dynasties. The ancient wall with five gates face the river on three sides. The city wall and moat are well appointed and functioned well acclaimed as the outstanding one in ancient cities.

Meiguan Pass: Situated on the Dageng Ridge 12 kilometers south of Dayu County, the ancient Meiguan courier route was the main passageway for people from the Central Plains to the south of the Five Ridges in ancient times. The Meiguan Pass, known for plum-blossoms, is an ideal niche for appreciating wintersweets.
