Its construction started in 1189 and was completed in 1192, with its total length 266.5 meters and width 7.3 meters. It
has 11 openings and 10 piers, 281 columns and 279 blocking plates. The folks claimed that the stone lions on the bridge
could not be counted clearly.
These stone lions were recovered and repaired in the Jin, Yuan, Ming, Qing Dynasties and Minguo periods and the artistic features of each period is embodied on the lions. It thus "becomes" a museum of stone engravure.
At the east end of the Bridge is a tablet engraved with Crystal Moon at Lugou Bridge" inscribed by the Emperor Qianlong
at the Year Xinwei. Lugou Bridge was a famous scene of "Crystal Moon at the Lugou Bridge" as one of "Eight Scenes at Yanjing". Ticket: 5/10vuan
