Watching Tidal Bore at Xiaoshan
The tidal waves in the Qiantang
River is famous for its might and
splendor. The activity of watching tidal
waves started more than 2, 000 years ago
in the Han and Wei Dynasties. The
waves can be seen on the 1st to 5th and
15th to 20th days each month on the lunar
calendar, while the biggest come round 18th
day of the 8th month. Xiaoshan Tidal Wave
Watching Resort is another good place for
watching the tidal waves besides the one
in Yanguan, which combines recreation,
entertainment and wave watching.
